Vientiane market has two places to change money all the banks will change it but your best bet is just take baht thy are very happy to take baht on my last trip their £1-20000 kip so you will have to have a big bag with you to CARRY it round in. all so when you go some wear els you can not exchange kip as no one wants it.BILL

Exchange your Euros for Lao Kip in Lao and make sure you change your remaining Lao Kip back to Euros before you leave Lao.
Before you go to Lao, take a bunch of 20 baht Thai bank notes with you. They are great to use in larger cities in Lao.
You can exchange cash at the airport in Laos and some of the hotels. However, I recommend sticking with Bangks for honest exchange rates. If in Vientiane, head towards the fountain (ask the tuk-tuk drivers to take you to the reastaurant named 'Korp Jai Der' as it's next to the fountain). Once at the fountain, head down the road that is slightly to the north of the fountain. You will find a bank with an exchange window. There are other places to exchange, but that's the bank i always use to exchange my US$ every time I go.
US$ are more accepted than Euros only because people know the exchange rates off the top of their heads. Smaller towns will usually accept foreign currencies, but you are better off paying in Lao Kip, because if you pay in Euro/Dollars, the establishment will give you change in Kip at a poor exchange rate.

Yeah, you can exchange money at any banks and money exchange places. US$ gets the best rate there, not EUROS. You can always use your debit card at many ATM. My advice to you is DO NOT bring a lot of cash. Travel checks are better because they got stolen, no one can cash it but you (need to show passport in order to cash travel checks). Have a great trip in Laos. If you need more info about Laos visit http://www.laos411.com

USD, THB and KIB are all base currencies in Laos, so you can use all those. There're branches of Thai banks in Laos as well like Siam Commercial Bank, Bank of Ayudhya for example.
You can do exchanges and TC there. Good luck.

In Vientiane you have banks and money changers. Dollars, Thai Baht and Kip are accepted just about anywhere,
