I'm a chinese farang living in Bangkok. I don't have a degree but my English is near perfect...both written and spoken. I used to work for a local bank as a PR Manager back home and was making quite a handful of income. Since I've moved to Bangkok 6 months ago, I've tried so many job searching websites and still no luck. Teaching English is just not my cup of tea. Is there something else I could do? I'm only 30 years old...

Any farangs who used to be in my situation, you advise is much appreciated. Going home is not an option for me and VISA to stay here is already taken cared.

I met this group of western people who travel around the country doing English Camps for Thai students. This is not actually class room teaching but a fun way to teach English to young high school students. These instructors are all around your age and seem to enjoy the work. You may want to contact them. Here is the website http://www.dragonfly-english-camps.com/

I agree with everyone. It is extremely difficult to find a job in Thailand as a Farang. Every employers prefers Thai National You should probably think about investing in a business of some sort if you have the right amount of income. If so, you will then need a Thai Partner, this will perhaps open another can of worms.

You need to realize that it is extremely difficult to land a job as a foreigner in Thailand. Thai Nationals will nearly always be favorable over foreigners to Thai employers. The vast majority of foreigners who work in Thailand are there because of their experience, qualifications and technical knowledge. Many foreigners who work in Thailand have been able to get transferred with their international company from their home country to Thailand.

Additionally, the Thai government are very particular when issuing work permits to foreigners, as they would rather keep jobs for local people. I'm sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but you need to realize it is not easy at all to work in Thailand as a foreigner. Another option is to open your own business, but this too can be tricky, especially if you can't read/speak Thai and don't know the procedures.

There are always chat rooms on the net where not all farangs are interested in things that occur below the waistline. There are a lot of good westerners who would be pleased to meet and speak with you without sex coming into the conversation. Clubs and bars are not the best places in the world to meet people but consider talking to someone you may see in the supermarket or a department store. You do not have to give out any personal information and still speak English too. If your spoken English is as good as your written, why not seek out a position as an interpreter? You can speak to farang, use your English and get paid to do so. Good luck!

Being in Thailand 6 months and still no job should send a big signal there are very few jobs available, just cause you want to work here does not mean you will get a good paying job. If all you are doing is checking websites, I'd say you need to go out and walk around to various companies and give them a copy of you resume. Maybe try companies that have Chinese customers (tour guide, import/export, or here's a big one;

BTW, how is your "visa taken care of"? Married to a Thai lady? Work permit? ED visa?

I'm afraid you have a problem...

You are competing against Thais who (by law) make much less money. an expat must receive a legal salary of 2x more (for Westerners around Bt. 45000/month).

Why would a Thai company want to hire someone who (probably) doesn't speak a word of Thai and earns twice as much as a Thai?

If you don't want to teach, fine. But you have to get some qualifications to get another job, I think. Surfing the job sites isn't going to help you. Your money will run out long before your dream job appears.

You leave a lot of issues on the table. Your nationality, your ability to speak Thai or other language and its even kind of iffy about your legal status. These would all concern me if I was looking at you for a job.

So your qualifications at this point are you look Chinese but speak English and you used to be a PR manager and you may have taught English for a time. Maybe a Purser on a cruise line. Maybe work for an Importer. It hard to find work in Thailand if your not Thai and its harder if your have few qualification.

And maybe you should pull your pants up...that's really not going to impress a potential employer.

It's not going to be easy, also you are never going to earn a vast amount ,unless placed here by an International company or have your own successful business.

Heres some links to all the job and employment websites i know of for Bangkok & Thailand.

You can look for a company with operations in China, but frankly you are competing with Thai and Chinese salaries.

Thailand is a place for 50+ guys to live cheaply and who fancy a younger girlfriend. Not a place to make money.

You can make money in binary options only if you treat it as a real form of investing. Learn here https://tr.im/tZOtw

This means learning how it works, learning how to read charts and learning how you can make accurate predictions. All these are not that difficult but it takes some time. If you treat it as gambling and just make random predictions then you will obviously not win.
