Question:
What is the Weather like in Thailand in may/june?

my friend and i want to do Indochina (Thailand, Cambodia, Loas, Vietnam) next year in may/june, possibly the end of april is when we'd start, but we heard it starts to get kinda rainy and my friend is really hesitant if its like that, I looked it up and it doesn't look like it will be that bad, but she's still not 100% convinced that it's worth it... so;

If you've been, what time of year and what was the weather like? if you haven't but know ppl or just know the weather, is it really that bad around may and june?

I heard that its rainy sometimes and mostly in the afternoons, so we just plan accordingly!?? We both want to do some kayaking, climbing, biking tours, hiking, (while i'm at it, if you know of any good companies to go through, safe and fun, what are they?) and of course a little bit of beach time and we plan on doing the full moon party, so for most of that stuff you want really good weather but if you tour cities and temples, I don't think either of us mind a bit of rain.. but some advice from people who know it at that time would be nice?

thanks:D

If you want to worry abt weather, and some people do - that time of year, I would worry more abt your ability to handle the heat - we are just coming out of hot season, so still some blistering days, and of course we love when a good rain comes and cools things off - the rains are mostly typical tropical local showers - can rain hard for an hour or so, usually late afternoon early eve and then gone. Can rain hard in one village and 5 miles away, nothing...

But people like to worry abt things - one lovely fellow who posts here is forever concerned abt cracks in the sidewalk in a 3 block radius in Bkk - everybody has stuff... May/June/July is a nice time of year here, I think. And fewer tourists.

@asker, see that - I told you there was a sidewalk obssessive here... as you see, he just can't help himself on this subject. And he is a bit insecure abt his level of knowledge, to attack mine, but he lives in Bkk and surely know more abt that than I do - he likely knows every crack in the sidewalk from Nana to Asoke.

in the time of could and June you'll discover some inns at decrease expenditures and a lot less crowds. relying on the position you're the elements will be slightly warm, replacing over to the moist season. Even in the time of moist season there's a lot of light for seashores and suntans. no matter if it really is warm the position you're drink a lot of fluids and each and each each now and then discover someplace it extremely is air-conditioned. if you're in a moist section understand that the rain does no longer very last too a lot more desirable than an hour and it does no longer rain each the position together. you'll likely discover the rain a minor inconvenience. If it rains convey about a bar or eating position, flow to a movie, capture some sleep or flow paying for. "undesirable stuff about finished moon activities?" (i love your description "fool" moon activities more desirable perfect!) nicely once you've a lot of little ones lower than the effect of alcohol as a skunk, some utilising dope - there could nicely be some complications! when you're the style that does stupid issues once you're lower than the effect of something then you could have problem! if you're vacationing with those who habitually get lower than the effect of alcohol and get in problem - you could also get rounded up by utilising the police! do not take stupid opportunities! do not waste all of your time on seashores or partying - see a number of Thailand too! visit some temples, nationwide parks, hill tribes, flow to Chiang Mai, etc. good success.

The SpankMister must ride everywhere because the sidewalks in Bangkok are broken up enough to give you a real surprise, especially if elderly, and motorbikes like to dodge stopped traffic by running on sidewalks, some of which are either so narrow or so filled with street vendors that walkers go out in the street. Small alleys/soi are worse.

In the HiSo areas of upscale shops, where Spanky must stay, have very nice walkways.

This is not to tell you not to walk, just look down often, and if tall, up too because little porches on sidewalk stalls are forehead height for a six footer.

Sorry to speak so much about sidewalks, but Spanky has targeted me with his obvious superior info and attitude; he is slowly learning that there is another accurate YA writer in BKK town.

His other info here is right-on.

Occasional showers and rains but no flooding yet!

Sometimes, walking in the rain is exciting and fun!

The weather is somewhat humid, but that is good for a change!

Life is how you make it - so how you would enjoy and make the most of it depends on your attitude and determination!
